Stumbled, but didn’t fall.

This article is really a D.I.Y. group of plans for making hookah tables that will keep the hookah from ever moving or falling! Great photos from the web.

As I was doing the previous post and looking for photos for a high pressure air hose to clean out a hose, I saw this photo and couldn’t help thinking that this¬† type of air hose could make a nice hookah hose. The one I’ve used in a machine shop a nice orange coloured one spiraled and quite springy, but light-weight and flexible was the same I saw in the big 7/24 hookah shop. They use it to blow out all the new hookah hoses being purchased¬† to get any wood particles out from the factory as well as blowing out the metal shafts of the hookah itself.

Since this kind is re-inforced, you should ask the seller if it has metal inside. You will end up with rust again! I’ve seen so many of thes 100%p.v.c. so I would not buy this kind.

This is the best to go with.

It always stays spiraled like this and springs back. Ask yourself if you want to smoke with such a hose. It will reach very far, but could tip and  pull your hookah over. My 2 hookahs are side-by-side on a glass end-table that is built with  a 3 step level. The longest step level is about 3 inches off the floor, then there next step up about 9 inches  and  a shorter glass step up higher.

I recieved this for free from someone who was moving and wanted to get rid of it. It hung around my apartment unused for awhile . Its the ultimate magazine table, but I don’t have magazines or newspapers.

The hokahs fit side by side with room in between for the distance of my ash catcher on top. Both are very large hookahs, one a bit shorter and even though I use¬† medium size pie tins cut in the middle for catching more ash, they fit. Even nicer, the circumfrence of my large water bowls is a bit smaller than the table’s lower step! I can pull hard on the hookah hose and it won’t fall.

My table does’t spiral, but this is nice.Notice metal side supports to keep the hookah from falling.

But as mentioned before, you can make¬† a hookah support in a few minutes by drawing the diameter around the hookah bowl on the bottom of a strong cardboard box, cut it out with a razor knife¬† having the box about 2-4 inches high and it won’t fall. Better would be plywood which you can paint or decorate.

This can also be cut away for a hookah.

¬†This needs to be cut away at the top. A bottom cut is not a good idea because of the hookah’s rising heat!¬†An old drawer turned upside down and cut away¬† is an idea.

This needs a frame of wood easily made to keep the hookah perfectly fitting and it won’t budge.

Bar stool can be cut away, or any chair really. It has to be low, right? For a hookah so you don’t pull it over.

Again, you measure the circumfrence of the  glass water bowl and fit to size wanted. If you make cut a bit more in diameter, on a stool like this or the tables you can have it resting on the floor which is best!

Here the hookah is separated and reattatched with p.v.c. hose

New idea?¬†Sturdy? I wouldn’t use it.

Something for the girls! (It was on the page).

This is one big…….tableMe too!

Here is….”Mother” :

It IS a small diameter hose (as shown  and explained above) Go to fullsize imageGo to fullsize imageGo to fullsize imageGo to fullsize image

the size of a mini or junior hookah hose, but you can fit a hookah mouth-piece on it by playing around with the thin electric tape. Take the ends of the hose, put in very hot water which will expand it put the mouth-piece in and upon cooling will fit perfectly.

So you “Do it yourselfers” out in hookah-land, I hope you have lots of “food for thought”!Go to fullsize image
